The problem with vacation is, well, you VACATE. Brain, sense of time, all included. That’s one of the great things about it, too.
Thursday was our second, and final, day at sea. For anyone who hasn’t been on a Caribbean cruise, these are some of the best days. You sleep in (well, to 7:30 for us, which is REALLY sleeping in), there’s no agenda for the most part, and you just ride along on the ocean and enjoy the day.
Our day followed that agenda – food, sun, swim, repeat. The one thing of note was the ice show. Yes, there is an ice skating rink here on the ship. Along with a rock climbing wall, miniature golf course, and I’m sure a dozen other things that we didn’t take full advantage of.
There were several classes on board. None of us opted for towel folding. Benita took in some type of natural homeopathic product thing, but realized it (like a great many other classes on cruise ships) was in reality little more than a live infomercial. So much for that!
All the message boards said don’t miss the ice show. They were exactly right – it was spectacular. The rink is, as you might imagine, very small, but there were about 8 or 9 performers who did an Ice Capades type show with music, special effects, etc. It was a definite highlight of the trip.
All that relaxing didn’t change bedtime, though, so by midnight the boys were in and everyone was wrapped in their blankies. One of the great things about them getting older is that we don’t have to keep absolute tabs on them 100% of the time. Also having Bobbie Jean and Robbie along has helped, since the kids go off with them at times as well.
It’s a short entry for the sea day, because there really isn’t a lot to report that you wouldn’t expect.
